How long does it take to see results from hair loss treatment?

Hair loss treatments work gradually. Here's a realistic timeline and what to expect along the way.

Months 1–3 — The adjustment period

Some patients experience a temporary increase in shedding during the first 6–8 weeks. This is normal and is called the shedding phase. It happens because the medication is pushing out old, weakened hairs to make way for new growth. It does not mean the treatment isn't working.

Months 3–6

Shedding typically slows and stabilizes. Some patients begin to notice less hair loss and early signs of new growth, particularly along the hairline and crown.

Months 6–12

This is when most patients see the most noticeable results — thicker, stronger hair and meaningful reduction in loss.

12+ months

Results continue to improve with consistent use. Hair loss treatments work best as an ongoing regimen.

📌 Important: Stopping treatment will reverse results over time. Most patients need to continue using the medication to maintain their gains.

What if I'm not seeing any results by month 3?

Send a message through the patient dashboard — your provider may recommend adjusting your application frequency or adding a complementary treatment.

Is the shedding phase permanent? No. It typically lasts 4–8 weeks and resolves on its own.
